October Tarot Pulls

Hi, everyone!

This month’s theme was loss. Some of the articles have been about losing homes, losing optimism, and losing your way in life. Loss reminds us of what we had and will miss. It is one of the most painful emotions I’ve ever experienced, but it can also present the void in our hearts that love and comfort usually fill. Loss is a rough emotion that can sometimes push you beneath the dirt of grief. The sun feels like it barely touches you as you try to figure out life without this person or that thing. As time passes, you begin to feel the sun again and you realize you’re not buried. Only planted. Now you’re growing flowers and this person or that thing becomes a fond memory. Less painful to think about. Ideally, loss makes us more appreciative. Grateful.

We’ve all lost something to get to where we are today. I’m not saying that this person or that thing needed to leave or disappear, only that whatever happened was a part of our journey in getting to this point. We may lose more loved ones, but we will gain many more and cherish them.

Let’s see what the collective is dealing with, if anything is to be gained.

Aquarius

Judgment (reversed): analyzing past decisions

2 of Pentacles: balancing

7 of Pentacles: time-management

In the last article, you were being urged to embrace a new mindset. I think you have started this process now and you are learning to accept how your life has changed now. The two Pentacles cards indicate that some of this newness has affected your finances. Both cards ask you to pay more attention to your life and to keep a bird’s eye view of everything going on. Let’s look at the clarifiers.

Clarifiers: Ace of Cups, Page of Wands, 4 of Cups (reversed), King of Swords

The King of Swords asks you to keep going. The 4 of Cups indicates weakening steps. You may be losing motivation to adapt and accept some of the new changes, hence the appearance of the 2 and 7 of Pentacles from earlier. The Page of Wands is a good sign – you may have more offers coming in, regarding the new changes in your life. Perhaps the change in lifestyle will bring more creative opportunities your way, which would explain why the Ace of Cups is here, too. For the rest of November, focus on how to make these new changes work for you.

We’ll keep the rhodonite to help keep stress at bay and change out the citrine for amazonite.

Gemini

Star (reversed): “waiting for things to manifest”

Page of Cups (reversed): delayed love news

Knight of Pentacles (reversed): “more learning to do”

I feel like some of the Geminis have had a love offer come your way that you weren’t ready for. The Star card gives me a clue that this is something you have been waiting for, but because you were unprepared, you may be feeling like you have missed your opportunity. All is not lost. Let’s look at the clarifiers.

Clarifiers: 6 of Swords, 8 of Wands, 5 of Pentacles, Page of Swords

You have two cards in this spread indicating that you should move on from this. Intuitively, I want to say that you had a new suitor come your way and you weren’t ready because you haven’t moved on from your ex. I get the sense that another person is still lingering in your mind. There are some things you need to shake off before you can pursue any new relationships right now. If this new suitor is still around, reach out to them and explain what is going on.

We’re going to keep the crystals from the last article (aquamarine and carnelian) to help any difficult conversations go smoother.

Libra

5 of Swords: conflict, strife

Chariot: new phase in life

Queen of Pentacles: “nurturing oneself”

Libra, you don’t seem to catch a break. The Chariot suggests that life is moving on and things are improving. However, when I read the Queen of Pentacles and 5 of Swords together, I interpret them to mean that life would be moving quicker if you were taking better care of yourself. The 5 of Swords suggests that things have been a bit tumultuous, like a passing storm. There are moments of peace where you feel yourself starting to recover, and then a cloud comes, and it seems to erase your progress.

Clarifiers: Knight of Wands, 4 of Swords, 10 of Wands, 9 of Swords

You need to get more creative with your self-care. I think this is where some of the issues are coming from. The 10 of Wands suggests creative burnout and fatigue, so if you have been having trouble with any creative projects, you are being urged to take some time off. The 4 of Swords is asking you to take a break, or at least prioritize downtime, which should help alleviate some anxiety. I think the idea of self-care is part of the problem. Maybe you don’t have enough time for everything you’d like to do, so think outside of the box a little bit. Is there anything you could do on the way to work? Grab a sweet treat or maybe blast that old album you haven’t heard in a while.

I recommend rose quartz and rhodochrosite to boost self-love while you push through this.

Aries

Wheel of Fortune: new cycle

4 of Wands: stability, consistent progress

Page of Cups: love news, increase in communication

There is definitely a change in your luck when it comes to romantic relationships. This is indicated by the upright and rather positive Wheel of Fortune. I usually pull this card when someone is changing a habit or entering a new phase of life. The 4 of Wands suggests an incoming stability for you, as well as a fresh rush of creativity if we look ahead at the clarifiers.

Clarifiers: Ace of Wands, 2 of Cups, Ace of Cups, Knight of Pentacles

The Knight card suggests that you have some learning to do while you navigate this new change. The Ace of Cups indicates a new relationship or a new phase in the current relationship you are in. However, the 2 of Cups asks you to keep your individuality while things settle. It is incredibly easy to lose ourselves in the beginning of a new relationship. The 2 of Cups is begging you not to. The Aces show that life is changing in a good way. The Knight of Pentacles encourages you to spend time strengthening any intellectual weaknesses you have regarding your work or hobbies.

I recommend citrine and carnelian to aid with retaining information and staying positive.

Leo

3 of Pentacles: rebuilding finances

6 of Wands: victory

5 of Swords: conflict, strife

I think you have been encountering more troubles when it comes to your finances stabilizing. However, the good news is that the 6 of Wands suggests that the current problems are temporary. The 5 of Swords definitely has a stressed energy to it and describes competition in your field. You will overcome this soon.

Clarifiers: 8 of Wands, 4 of Swords, 2 of Pentacles, King of Wands (reversed)

You are being urged to rest while you navigate this time. The 8 of Wands suggests that you need to spend more time observing your field and learning the rules. The reversed King of Wands indicates a paralysis when it comes to making a move, but this can be mended by following the 4 of Swords’ advice for you. Spend more time recharging and the idea will eventually come to you. You need to balance resting and learning at this time while you figure things out.

We’re going to keep the blue quartz and clear quartz from the last article.

Sagittarius

7 of Wands: persistence, pushing through

Page of Pentacles: career news, financial opportunity

Page of Cups: love news

You are being asked to push through the stagnancy and delay. The 7 of Wands describes perseverance. You have to remember why you came this far. The two Pages indicate news for both love and finances. You should receive an offer soon.

Clarifiers: Hermit (reversed), King of Wands, Wheel (reversed), Ace of Swords

It seems to me that you are coming out of your shell and spending more time working. The Ace of Swords is asking you to take on a new mindset and to turn your back on old habits. The reversed Wheel confirms this. Altogether, it seems that things are working out for you and it is up to you for this to last. The reversed Hermit feels like a warning: you have only reentered the outside world because it seemed worthwhile. Take the advice from the King of Wands and take charge of your life.

Hold onto the pink opal and amethyst for a bit longer.

Scorpio

Knight of Pentacles: skill-development

Death: transformation, rebirth

3 of Wands: increasing creative energy

You have laid down the foundation since the last article. Death tells me that you have been doing a massive overhaul in your life or you will soon. The Knight of Pentacles indicates that you are in the process of learning something, perhaps something creative since the 3 of Wands is here. This spread tells me that you are trying some things you haven’t done before.

Clarifiers: Wheel of Fortune, King of Wands, Knight of Swords, Hierophant

I get the sense that older people may have been giving you unsolicited advice, giving you the impression that there is a “correct” way to do this. While some of their advice may be useful, don’t be afraid to try things your way. The Knight of Swords indicates stress, perhaps coming from your conflicted feelings. I feel like you may be trying to do this both ways: yours and theirs. Either way, the Wheel suggests a good change in luck, so everything is going to be fine. Just remember that you are living your life, not anyone else’s.

We’re going to keep the rose quartz and citrine from September’s article for a little while longer.

Pisces

Queen of Pentacles: self-care, a step away from financial mastery

Emperor: masculine energy

2 of Wands: short-term and long-term planning

It seems to me that you have started to take on a more masculine energy in your life. You are here to get things done by starting to take care of things that you have been setting aside for months now. The Queen of Pentacles feels like you are taking better care of yourself. The 2 of Wands also suggests that you are looking towards the future with more optimism as you take more control over some aspects of your life.

Clarifiers: 7 of Pentacles, 2 of Pentacles, Devil, 6 of Wands (reversed)

I can see that because of your new focus on taking care of yourself, you have had to shed some old habits and accept some challenging changes in your life. The 7 of Pentacles asks you to work on your time-management skills and spend more time looking to your future with optimism. These changes are good. Take a moment to celebrate your accomplishments.

I apologize that this one is so brief. I recommend aventurine and citrine to help you stay positive.

Cancer

2 of Cups (reversed): not prioritizing the self, love troubles

8 of Wands: moving on to new projects

5 of Swords: conflict

In the last article, some of the Cancers were struggling to move on from a relationship. As a result, you have started to let yourself fall by the wayside. For some of you, the 5 of Swords is explained by the possibility of a new suitor competing with your ex without knowing it. For others, the 5 of Swords can be explained by your attempt to bring this person back into your life. The 8 of Wands and reversed 2 of Cups together describe self-neglect.

Clarifiers: Chariot (reversed), 4 of Swords (reversed), Knight of Pentacles, 5 of Swords

Like Leo and Libra, you need to spend more time resting. The reversed Chariot suggests that life is on pause while you pull yourself together. Of course, the 5 of Swords shows that this hasn’t been easy for you. Some of you may not know how to relax, which explains the Knight of Pentacles. If you don’t take the time to rest now, your body and mind will force you to.

Use black tourmaline and aquamarine to stay grounded.

Taurus

4 of Pentacles: financial stability

9 of Cups: happiness

3 of Pentacles: “building”

I think you have been seeing a positive change in your finances or you will soon. The 9 of Cups is a great card and a much-needed sight for sore eyes after the last two articles. The Pentacles cards indicate an increase in your finances and the 3 of Pentacles clues me in that you are starting to recover financially and mentally as well.

Clarifiers: 5 of Cups, Queen of Pentacles (reversed), Moon (reversed), Devil

The reversed Queen feels like you haven’t been feeling your best lately. This is confirmed by the 5 of Cups. There is still some grieving you need to do. Some of you may have a habit of repressing your emotions, which is adding to the anguish. However, the Moon asks you to look a bit closer. Maybe you go through life without reading the fine print. As things stabilize in your life, you will realize how important it is to analyze things before you engage,

I recommend obsidian and citrine to shake off any brain fog.

Virgo

Judgment: observing your current options

Emperor (reversed): masculine energy being wasted or not used

Star: wish fulfillment

I think that you have had a hard time accepting the consequences of your actions. The reversed Emperor tells me that you have been avoiding certain responsibilities. You will eventually get what you have asked for, but you have to do the work. Judgment tells me that you're afraid to make any big life changes. I suggest you start small and see what you can handle.

Clarifiers: 10 of Pentacles, Moon (reversed), 6 of Swords (reversed), Strength

Like Taurus, you may be having trouble seeing things clearly. The 10 of Pentacles suggests financial security, but only after you move on from what is holding you back. You are being urged to be more mindful of your spending habits. I think there is something you want to save up for, but you currently don't have the means. Consider grabbing a part-time job on the side to help you with this adventure.

I recommend clear quartz and aventurine to bring more good money your way.

Capricorn

8 of Cups: grieving

3 of Pentacles: “building”

Hanged Man (reversed): impatience

You are in a similar boat to Taurus. Your finances are recovering, but you are still wounded. It seems like you still have some work to do on the inside. I would argue that this emotional blockage is preventing life from progressing as you would like. The Hanged Man doesn’t feel strong here, so you are definitely becoming a bit more comfortable waiting. I urge you to take up journaling on occasion to help you process your feelings.

Clarifiers: 2 of Pentacles, World, Ace of Wands (reversed), 10 of Cups

The World and 10 of Cups indicate happiness right out of reach. The Ace of Wands feels like it is pointing at you, towards your chest. You need to address how you’re feeling before anything can move for you. Your feelings need acknowledgment. The World asks you to look at your life objectively and see what needs to be changed. What isn’t benefiting you as much as you thought? What needs a serious overhaul for you to be comfortable? The 2 of Pentacles urges you to balance these small or big changes while you continue living your life. Things will settle soon.

Since the 10 of Cups was in the last spread, I think we’ll hold onto September’s crystals: aventurine and citrine. Add clear quartz to the mix to amplify these positive energies.

Overall Energy for the Collective in October 2021:

The Moon, 2 of Pentacles, and Queen of Pentacles appeared in quite a few spreads. The collective is being urged to take better care of themselves while they endure major lifestyle changes. Some signs are having more trouble than others, while other signs are struggling with new variables in old problems. Everyone needs to prioritize self-care for the rest of the year. Some people run the risk of burnout. In the meantime, I think everyone needs to revisit their monthly budget and recalculate.

Take care, everyone! See you in November.
